My pain is an evil cake.
Like the fruitcake I wish I could give
to some evil bastard who deserves it.
But... I can't
It is mine.
It was given to me by HIM.
A parting shot as it were.
I have carried it a long time
unopened.
A big heavy lump of lead... cake.
hurting each day little by little
poisoning my life

No more though.
I have begun to EAT that cake.
I will devour it till it is gone.
every foul tasting morsel
bit by bit. bite by bite.
Tear by tear.
I... will cry
I... will rant
I... will vent
I ...will swallow
I will NOT choak on it
HE... will have no satisfaction
It will be gone.
all of it and I will be free.
HE... will not win.
I.. will live.
I ..will be happy.
That cake and HIM will be
a sad memory that will cause no more tears.
no more nightmares
no more triggers
no more lonliness
NO.. MORE.. PAIN

but for now,
I cry and
I swallow

one.... more.... bite

Roger,

We do have to sample the cake, yes, to see what's in it and how it has affected us. But you know what? Fruit cake on the other side of the loaf is still fruit cake. At some point we CAN decide to just put the thing down and walk away from it. It was never baked with our welfare in mind anyway.

Much love,
Larry

Good thought Larry. Thanks for that. This was kind of a poetic rant on my part. Feeling better now though. Thanks for you comment.

Roger,

We need to rant sometimes. I'm glad you can do that here. Quite often a good rant helps us to clarify things and see helpful points that otherwise we would have missed entirely.

Much love,
Larry
