We would like your help in creating an original music video that would reach out and grab the hearts of people . The first thing we need is some powerful lyrics. After we get the words we will add music and then some powerful images ,photo's and art work. When you read and write the words think about what images you have that would have an impact.

We will be adding this finished music video to the Report to Congress.

For the first song We will be asking why society shut their eyes, turned their back, didn't protect us, didn't help us heal.

Below is something I started but fill free to run with it in any direction you want.

Tom

Why Couldn't You See.....

.................................................The pain in my eyes

..................................................................The anger in my heart

Just a child so small I didn't understand it all...

What I couldn't see was what he was do'n to me...

What he did with me would stay with me...

cuz no one could see what he did with me...

Why couldn't you see, what was happening to me?
Why couldn't you hear, what was going on in here?

Why did you turn away, when I tried to speak,
But didn't know what words to say?
Why did you think it was just a stage,
when all I did was act out in rage?

Why didn't you see me?
Why didn't you hear me?
Why didn't you save me
from the pain and agony?

Why did you leave me all on my own?
Why did you dismiss me and and leave me to roam?
Why O Why did I grow up alone?
When so many others have a place to call home?

My life have been stolen, hijacked, and canned.
No one cares, they want to hide their heads in the sand.

They hope beyond hope that I'll just go away!
But I'm not leaving, here I will stay!

Now that I'm grown and have words of my own.
I'll shout and scream and make them hear!
I won't let them shut me out when help is so near!
Save the poor children who are afraid and alone!

I can sing too! 4 years of high school chorus, 3 years of All South Jersey Chorus. Might be more effective to have a child sing it though.

I like this!!

The pain lasted
long after that day,
for years, and years,
I would hope and pray,

I felt overwhelmed
and was going insane,
I cried out to God
"please take away this Pain!"

In a world of isolation,
With only fear intact,
Our wings were broken,
No way to fight back.

Beaten, and used
and thrown to the ground,
decades of anguish
of being lost and never found.

Years of loneliness,
and hopeless despair,
we find one thing,
that was always there.

Before the destruction,
before all the hate,
before the illusion,
that we were less than great.

Our right to live,
our right to breath,
our right to happiness,
our right to believe.

So we gather our strength,
now in numbers more than one,
We have started a process,
that can't be undone.

We will not go quietly,
into the night,
the little boy's hopes,
for which we will fight.

And on that day,
when our lives come to end,
I will be looking,
back at you my friends.

you have something now,
a place to call home,
my how the tables have turned..
you're not fighting alone.

When you feel those demons,
from when the odds were against you,
Know that you're not by yourself now,
they'll have to get through us too.

Didn’t you see it?
I’m guessing you couldn’t
I wish you’d have helped
But I bet that you wouldn’t
I’d stare into nothing
In a world of my own
You should have asked why
I said “Leave me alone!”

There were a thousand ways I told you
That something had gone wrong
But it wasn’t in a letter
I couldn’t write a song
You had to want to hear it
The shattering of my heart
When my world fell apart

He walks through the playground
Frightened and numb
He’s running away from
The man he’ll become
He forces a smile
So no one will know
The guilt that consumes him
Will you let it go?

There are a thousand ways they tell you
That something has gone wrong
They don’t write it in a letter
They don’t put it in a song
You have to want to hear it
The shattering of a heart
When a world falls apart
