Anniversary dates are so hard, and I have a big one coming up, soon, the anniversaryt of the first time I remember being abused, for the longest time I had all these feelings under lock and key, but it broke through, and this is the only date I really remember, my mind has blocked out other anniversary dates, they just won't come to me no matter how hard I try to remember, part of it could be my DID I suppose, but still I want to remember when it happened, or maybe not remembering is better for me, I just don't know, and not remembering scares me, but the thought of remembering scares me too, so it's one of those catch-22 things. Any thoughts would be appreciated. And how do you guys deal with hard anniversary dates?

Peace to all,
Poet24

My anniversary is 1-5-2008. That is when I remembered the CA. I look it as a sort of new birthday for me. I am more "alive" now than I ever was. Emotions, feelings, I now get to experience all of them now. Before I was so numb to everything, and for good or for bad, I allow myself to feel it all.

Don't remember any dates, but January for the past few years has kicked my tail, I didn't notice it, but my wife did. So maybe one of mine was sometime in Jan. Don't know.

The 10th August is the day that always gets me, my son died 24 years ago on that date, so it's a day that starts off in a funk and rapidly goes downhill, ending in me wondering what could of been, if only.

So all I can do is acknowledge it as a day I'd rather not remember but do and be kind to myself by remembering that there has been and will be good stuff in my life too.
