hey men

here is an opportunity to pat ourselves on the back for one thing we did well today

could be something simple or something monumental

i did a great job of walking up to the 7-11 in the fresh snow to get a hot chocolate
making goofy footprints by jumping backwards, hopping on 1 foot etc

Saw my doctor today (always uncomfortable) for my annual (over 2yrs) checkup. Was finally honest with him about my emotional state and how it is affecting my phycial state. He wants me to see another T and I agreed to go at least once. Personally don't think I need this, but whatever. I am trying to be compliant for a change.

Ineffable,

Welcome to MS, I am so glad you have found us, but I'm also sorry you need this site.

You have found a great and safe place. I also think this first thread you have started, shows a lot about your outlook on life. BRAVO!!!

Now, onto your topic.

I closed two deals today. (yeah I'm a salesman) I made 5 sales calls and landed two new clients. 40%..... yeah!!!!!!

Thanks for this...we all need to stroke our own egos sometimes.

Again welcome,
Carl

I gave $25.00 I found on the stairs at work to the person that lost it.

I let a person who suffers from PTSD at work know that they are not alone.

I lent an ear to a friend who's house got broken into and they stole her late moms jewelry and cleaned out her medicine cabinet.

I taught a person how to use remote desktop in Windos XP

I fixed my car.

I procrastinated really well, does that count? Come to think of it I'm doing another good job of it today. Although I did have my annual physical as well and I threw in a chest cat scan on top of that so I guess I did accomplish some things.

I worked, went to the interview with a roof builder company, and I had a nice lunch. As long as my day is not yet over, I am going to install a chat room at my site.

Thanks. Good post.

I am chuffed with myself today LOL
One of my co-workers left for greener pastures today, as per office protocol there was a sendoff lunch. Normally any sort of social occasion with more people present than I can handle will freak me out - in fact prewarned of these situations I will take the day off work LOL
But today I was able to stay in the room (although at a comfortable distance) and enjoy the other guys doing what normal guys do - have a drink, talk crap etc - without having the overwhelming urge to run away.

Great post, ineffable. I got a big smile on my face picturing the playfulness in the snow, and the hot chocolate sounds comforting.

Today I donated a small amount of money to malesurvivor.org, including the memorial fund, so that hopefully someone can go on a weekend of recovery. I also got my hair cut and bought some nice peppermint shampoo that makes me feel nice and clean.

I'm aware of my inner-children's needs today and am taking an active role in tending to the hurts. Watching Mary Poppins was helpful. The bird lady song (Tuppins?) makes me cry but "Let's Go Fly a Kite" fills me with hope.

I did an electromagnetic calculation without having to look over my notes. the last time i did that kind of maths was a year ago so pretty chuffed i remembered the technicalities of the situation in that problem

I also worked out a little, i guess it's a start

I finally have about two minutes to myself today, tried to come here on sunday, but ended up staying up all night to prepare for an experiment so i was sleeping yesterday afternoon because i didn't come back till late which means i'm up early today rushing to finish work before i leave in an hour or so.

Anyway, what i did well today (yesterday) is my experiment!
sure i got a bit stressed but we got the results, and they actually seem to be right! it was somebodys birthday too so that seemed to mean slower progress but i made sure we got everything we needed, although that meant running a little late, but i'm relieved it finally works!

I integrated a whole lot of new information into a seminar I teach and this new approach makes me much more marketable in the future. It represents a validation of some life choices I recently made.

Thanks for asking

On Monday, my test went well, at least it seemed to, i mean we all seemed to get different answers when we talked about it but it seemed to go well, so i want to say i did that well, but then i really didn't put as much effort in as i should have in revision so i should really avoid patting myself on the back about that

also, on some of the work the other week that i did during a period when i was feeling down i didn't do as badly as i thought i would, looking at their marking i can see that they were being generous and that makes me wonder because i told my tutor that i had a bit of a down period.

i had a good nights sleep last night so that's one good thing!

the only problem is after this week we have a break to revise and do projects and things and thats just an opportunity waiting to screw my sleep up so im going to have to be very careful

nothing. Horrible night's sleep. Didn't eat much of anything. Didn't go to the gym. Probably not going to the gym later either. I didn't get a chance to start a project because my group-mates apparently had better things to do then to share what we are even doing. I didn't start my paper due next week because I can't handle it right now.

I just want to scream at the top of my lungs.

I am feeling more upbeat on the upcoming WoR. I still have super anxiety issues. However I am exchanging some personal information with 3 other members who are also attending. I want so much for this experience to be positive.

I also had a conversation with my GF regarding our intimacy or lack of intimacy. I think we will be able to work it out.

i hear it suggested so much around the forum and i think i have to try to treat little Lewis better and then maybe i can be friends with that part of myself again and forgive him and understand

I resettled a colony of dustbunnies that had rapidly multiplied
(like dustbunnies do)

Dust bunny
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Cite This Source

Dust bunnies (often one word, dustbunnies) are little clumps of fluff that form under furniture and in corners that are not cleaned regularly. They are made of hair, lint, dust, and sometimes light rubbish and debris, and are held together by static electricity and felt-like-entanglement. In some regions of Britain, dust bunnies are sometimes called beggar's velvet.

Dust bunnies are frequently a source of amusement by making out that they are actual living creatures formed of dust, attested to by the many websites on the care and feeding of dust bunnies. Many cartoons reference dust bunnies, and parents often give tongue-in-cheek warnings to their children that dust bunnies will haunt them if they do not clean their rooms, not unlike Santa Claus giving lumps of coal to naughty children.

However, they can actually be harmful when they house dust mites or other parasites. A Dustbunny Cleaner has been invented. It consists of a robotic ball with an electrostatic sleeve that rolls about under furniture collecting dustbunnies and other material.

Dust bunnies are harmful to electronics, as they can seriously obstruct air flow through CPU heat sinks, severely raising temperatures and shortening the life of electronic components.

I am going to my daughters school today to stand up for her and protect her. I gave my wife a big hug and kiss this morning before she left for work and told her I loved her. I also got up early and took my girl to get doughnuts and took her to school.
I am trying harder at this Husband /father thingy.

I disclosed to my friend my history of abuse, and he in return disclosed to me his history of abuse that i had no knowledge of. For him to admit his abuse to me and me to him was a big step toward healing. it also means that are relationship as friend's is growing tremendously. now he is my god brother, my best friend forever, my buddy, and my buddy who i can talk to about anything.

decided that to help regain focus, i'm going to put that extra little bit of fun into my work and buy a full-size whiteboard, i have a small one but it is not big enough for a whole question, i'll admit i already have a lab-coat, i always feel like i have no excuses in not being able to do my work if i'm dressed smartly with a lab-coat on, don't worry, i've asked around, it seems it is not so unusual for physics students to prematurely play dress up like this lol, i guess you just don't grow out of some things lol

A few days ago, a fellow member both wise & frustrating as all frig shared with me how he felt I "read too much into things"

After reading too much into the comment frustrating me BIGTIME I wisened up

Today I am taking things more at "face value" (where a face actually is involved)

lol

While having an emotional exchange where strong & very obvious differences of opinion/perspective were being revealed
I didn't get overly angry & lash out at someone else.
I realized I was no longer trying to get someone to change their opinion by forcing mine upon them.
Or trying to prove them wrong.
I simply was expressing my own.
I probably was re-experiencing old trauma in my previous process because it used to leave me rattled.

I also realized I don't owe explanations, need to defend or justify my opinion or myself to anyone.
Even here at MS.

If asked to, I can simply say: "I don't know you well enough."
Nuff said.

Boundaries... they're a good thing.

I gave someone the option of:

a) not hearing what I had to say (if I hear no response from them so be it)
b) hearing what I had to say via PM (see "a")
c) hearing what I had to say on a public forum (see "a")

Today I got new tyres on my car and i washed it too.

I met with a potential new client in a martial arts club looking for a training video to be made.

I ran around chasing my friends cat with video camera for some fun.

And i hung out with my friends which was really fun.

I went to a new dentist today to try and resolve long standing issues with my teeth, and actually told the dentist, (do they all look like they are about 20 years old now? )why I do not like having things being put into my mouth. No fuss, no muss, and I'm living to tell the tale, and I am going back again to see him. He was great. Progress!

Rather than responding here on whether or not I thought something was appropriate or counterproductive
to the topic at hand, I forwarded it for consideration by others with "less reactive eyes"

(wasn't that a song by Kim Carnes?)
"a didda diddum didda diddum... he got less reactive eyes..."

I also suggested increased vigilance to keep threads forum "relevant" for want of a better term.

I feel I am being "baited" here at MS by one of my "brothers in healing" literally through the wording & timing & "placement" of their posts.

Rather than easily ripping them a new one & disrupting the site, I have forwarded my concerns to the Mods & will abide by their decision.
