Does anyone know if Celebrate Recovery covers CSA survivors?

I've heard that it does. I had talked about this quite a bit with Rob2008 in chat. He's also a pretty cool guy to talk to in case you never met him. I suggest that you PM him, he would be more than happy to talk about it with you.

It does not specifically cover it, rather it provides a safe venue to process it with people of the same gender, in a christ centred setting.

In addition it teaches the 12 step program based on a belief that God / Jesus is the higher power as opposed to EA that just acknowledges that there is a higher power. The steps are supplemented with teachings on how to use Christianity on how to overcome whatever issue you are dealing with.

Like any 12 step program, you will get out of it what you put into it. So don't expect a free ride because it is a christian program.

In my dealing with Celebrate Recovery, they use 3 H's as their model. Hurts, Hangups and Habits.

It is a very good Christian Centered group that deals with many kinds of disorders, including CSA

cool....

Thanks for this info guys...this sounds like its worth looking into.

My church runs it every Thursday night. I'd only be able to attend about every other week though. I did not want to ask them about the CSA aspect cuz...well...this new church does not know me yet...and I'm not ready to disclose.

I have been attending Celebrate Recovery sessions for over a year and have gotten a lot out of it. Does not specifically address CSA but principals apply.
