Just kind of wondering how many guys on the site are involved with going to WINGS support groups in Colorado

I am in the Boulder group that meets on Tuesday nights. We have 5 members at the present time.

Can I ask what WINGS is and do they have groups in other states? So far I've been striking out at any local groups at all :-( I've got absolutely no one to talk to about this stuff except this site, which has been a huge help, but for some reason I just feel I need some face to face contact.

Guys I also would be interested in getting information about what WINGS is. I am trying to find out what help there is for us out there. Would also like to talk to the directors and see how they get funding. Can anyone help me on this.

We in Colorado are very fortunate to have this organization available to CSA survivors, women and men.

A have been a group member for some 3 months or so now. It is a great tool in my journey to healing and recovery.

just as FYI stuff - i found Wings thru here (MS.org). It's the only thing that shows up when you list Agencies in Colorado on the "Find a Therapist" page...

I agree Muldoon, I wish there was something here in PA. Closest thing I've found is a recovery group that focuses on addictions. Which really doesn't help me, as currently I don't think I'm struggling with any addictions.

Ah well, I'll have to keep hoping and looking. Maybe someday I'll find a support group somewhere.

Thanks for replying guys, I just had the question on my mind about it. I had been on a waiting list for the group down here since like 2000 or 2001. Finally got a group started late last year but it seems to be fading fast and they'll probably cancel it completely. I don't think it's really the group for me but it's all there is here so I kind of go out of obligation for the moment.

by the way, I was also wondering about the interest in this Upward Bound they're planning.

I am applying for the Outward Bound trip this May. I got a note from the Wings office - they have applied for full scholarships for all applicants. One of the office staff said when they've asked in the past they've always gotten positive results.
