This is an important show, since these works have not been out of Russia for a very long time.

Also it's important to me as modern art in college was some of my favourite. It's so interesting too how they displayed the art back then - stacked all on top of each other. I am very glad the politics were avoided so that everyone can enjoy these works.

Interesting tidbit! Do you happen to know if Munch's "The Scream" was ever recovered? I remember that it was stolen two or three years ago, but never heard any more about it since.

I am not sure if it was recovered, but there are at least several versions of it. Munch was an expressionist whose work I really liked. He was pretty idiosyncratic as a person. If he thought his paintings were bad - he would "punish them" by leaving them in the rain. \:\) lol I love the scream too though. I will research to see if it's been recovered.
