Those are great ones. One I didn't see there is a great one by Churchill, who was drunk at the pub (I forget its name) right in front of the House of Commons on the Thames. Hee hee! yeah, "not as bad as it sounds" was referring to Wagner... i guess "Sturm und Drang" wasn't his thing...
I had a book long ago called "The Book Of Famous Insults" which contained many of these. The "A Curmudgeon's Book Of..." series is very much along the same lines.
