My Heart Of Gold
It is true I have felt pain
my heart has been crushed
people say things or do things
in the attempt to hurt or gain from me
I have a heart of gold
I have been touched
in ways children should not be
by those that said they loved me
and yet I still find love and love
thanks for my heart of gold
I have been blessed several times
despite being walked on and abused
by family and friends over and over again
so when someone tries to sting me now
I find ways to use my heart of gold
As I look inside and see my own heart
and see the smiles on the faces I touch
my reflection of my own love given freely
I see a wonderful person in me
I see a heart of gold everytime
A heart of Gold with enough
Love to hold you up
and enough to hold me up
walk with me a while and smile
I have gold to share with you in my Heart

Yeah it is, I have come a long way in the seven years since I found this site, it took me months to figure out how to sign in,
and look at me now, not as nieve and more able to fight back.
I wish I could have known all this 25 to 30 years ago.
At least I kept my heart of gold despite what happened to me.

Great poem MJ !
sometimes i just sit down and it all spills out... but it is too dark and I don't post it.
poetry is the best i can do as far as journaling and most of it is just for me, and it's strange and hard to get. Ive got note books of stuff i wrote yrs past and I can't even look at them.....Maybe some day i will look at them and re work them.
always wish i could write my story. but writing comes very hard for me. I was raised being called stupid and felt like a failure all my life.
