I am all registered for the conference next month and was wondering which of you fabulous ladies and gentlemen I should be on the look-out for. I've spoken to so many of you, and I'd love to be able to put faces to names and say thank you 'cause you all deserve a big one.

I wanna go but i am hesitant

Brian, I don't blame you. When I first heard about it, I was go, go, go, then I wobbled a little and then I thought Yes, go. I expect the conference as a whole and the workshops I'm attending to be wonderful and enlightening and educational. I think it's something that can only be good for me. And I desperately want to meet some of the folks who have helped me so much in this last 2 years. That's my main goal.

As an aside, but really no less important, is that there will be so many people there who know my situation and your situation. They won't judge or look at anyone with a confused or hesitant glance. Every single person attending this conference will have a vested interest in healing. The cloaks can be thrown off and there needs to be no fear of saying or doing the wrong thing for fear of someone "finding out." Some will be stronger and in a better place than others, but all will reach out a hand. I can't think of a better place to be.

its wierd...talking here is one thing...but talking about this face to face...I dunno about that.

I won't be at this one - though I'd love to. It could be a birthday present to myself ... but this is not the year. I envy each of you that is going, but I also pray it is a point of strengthening and joy. And I'll be here, waiting for reports of how great it was, so I can bolster myself up to maybe even go next year...

I don't think it's necessary if you don't feel you want to or can. I've never been to either, so I'm not sure, but from reading here, I get the impression that the weekends of recovery are more geared to the individual taking part in activities and group meetings and talking to counselors and other survivors, etc. I think, and again, I don't really know, that this conference is much more general and informative. From looking over the workshops, it seems there are certainly opportunities for participating, but I don't believe it's thrust upon you.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will set it straight.

All - I had talked about this briefly with several of us going.

Let's plan a lunch or dinner? My sense is that there are not that many members from here who are going to be there - probably a dozen at the most, which is actually pretty good.

But let's try to officially meet and get away from all those Therapists trying psychoanalyze us all the time....HAHAHA.
Wonder what they're like at one of these things...

BTW, I just checked my registration against the times posted on line for workshops and they conflicted so I checked with Trisha and she confirmed that my registration times were wrong. I would have missed one of my workshops entirely *ack!* so I suggest you guys check it out too.
