Brian

Your writing reminds me of "film noir." I can see these scenes in stark black and white vignettes, with a narration tying them all together. They are gritty, gutsy. The scenes jump off the page and into your imagination and a sadness, resignation maybe, comes through in a very understated but powerful way. You left me wanting to read more.

Brian - I am looking forward to reading more - I hope you are keeping a journal or something. This is good stuff. You are an adventurer at heart, I think.

Cheech Marin..."Born in East LA" to the tune of Springsteen's "Born in the USA"

Will you be returning through a manhole, like Cheech did?

Peace, and safe journey Brian,
James

Well I did make back across without needind to climb into a manhole, but INS took 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. Actuly it was just a long line at customs, the agent took my SS# and asked me a few simple questions, my midle name, where i was born, things like that. Then he told me to have a nice day.

The drive up 99 back to Modesto was more of a strane then I was exspecting. I was with my mother and we talked very little. It was embarising because she hed to do all the driving. The DMV isn't going yo give me back my liscence any time soon, if ever. After my legal trubles are over with and my medical stuff is stable I'm going to do some real roming of the back roads of California and Nevada.

A guy from Shropshire in South Central, yeah I'd say you were pretty lost Dave.

And yes C22 I am keeping a journal.
