There was a post that Jarrad write in response to someone, and he said how we know here each other with abuse, but do not know a lot about each other other things. And it is so often easy to us to focus of what we do not do good (I do that all the time). I thought it would be nice to start a thread where we can all share what we do good, what we accomplish, what wonderful people we are, instead of to just focus on the other things. We can learn more good things about each other, and to share of good things here, I think never that is done 'to much'. I will start with some things, but I will hope that I can add to it more in time, I hope we all can come back to it and add to it.

1. I am a good poker player.
2. I am pretty good painter.
3. I usually am a good person to other people, I try to be nice to everyone until I feel I have reason to not be.
4. I am learning more to trust people, and there is some people I trust totally.
5. I help take care of my family and share with them
6. I am hard worker
7. I can be funny person
8. I am more strong then usual I think I am
9. I have stayed with my sport for 18 years now, and have been world champion in junior level. I am still working to senior level.
10. I am a good friend.

Andrei

Great Idea Andrei

Hmmmmmmm......

1. I am a very caring person.
2. I think I trust people to easily.
3. I am a caretaker for my father.
4. I am self-employed.
5. I am a writer.
6. I have had a very interesting life.
7. I think I'm funny. (most of the time)
8. I love camping.
9. I enjoy gambling. (maybe to much)
10. I'm anal-retentive about some things.
11. I'm a great catch. (if someone would ever put the bait in front of me, and reel me out of the pond)
12. And I hope to be a multi-millionaire some day.
13. Finally, I am a dreamer.

Luv ya,
Carl

Andrei,

Nice idea. Okay, here are a few positive things about me:

1. I love relating to other people and think I am a good friend.
2. I am good at painting, paperhanging, and woodworking around the house, though I seldom have time for those things anymore.
3. I am a good cook.
4. I am a committed family person. My family is my first priority.
5. I am a dedicated teacher with more than 25 years experience.
6. I love fun, jokes and humor. I laugh loudest when the joke is on me. \:\)
7. I don't know how many books I have written, but it's a lot. I just checked and 13 are in the Library of Congress, including one in French, one translated from Arabic, and one translated from German.
8. I love poetry and have written some of my own.
9. I hate suits and don't own one anymore. I live in jeans and T-shirts.
10. I'm not sure how strong I am emotionally yet, but I have become content to be me.
11. I am good at languages but hopeless in math and anything technical. I like that idea.
12. I like dreaming and thinking about how to make my dreams real.

Much love,
Larry

Thank you for the idea, Jarrad, and for putting it into a thread, Andrei.

1. I stay firmly to what I believe. Sometime it turn out to be wrong, but at least I maintain my faith in my believes. And if I am wrong, I will admit it.

2. I am improving on my relationship skills, which have not been the best over the years.

3. I worked hard and remained at and near the top level of my sport for quite some time. I would like to try to do that again, but that is a different story.

4. I have been lucky and smart with investments, and will hopefully never have to deal with being very poor again.

5. I am generous to the people I love, and help to support my family, even when we are not on the best terms.

6. I have seen changes in myself since I join this site and work at these issues. Some are maybe not for the better quite yet, but I am not giving up.

7. Ok, so it deserve a point of it's own. I don't give up.

8. I maintain to my sense of values and ethics, and live by them. I make mistakes, like everyone do, but I do not do something against my personal values.

9. I am finally getting past the point of twisting myself into what other people want from me or expect of me. If people don't like that, screw them.

Leosha

1. I think I am a good little brother.
2. Sometimes I'm good at writing poetry.
3. I was good at skateboarding.
4. I'm bringin' sexy back. (hehe, couldn't resist)
5. My house mom says I have a great smile.
6. I'm beating this whole anorexia thing.
7. I'm a good boyfriend.
8. I always try to help someone in need.
9. Sometimes my heart is too big.
10. I thought of almost ten things. \:\)

This is hard, but I'll do my best.

1. I am an expert poker player. I like to label myself a "semi-pro", but I had to give it up.

2. I am a good writer, I just tend to lose focus after about ten pages of anything.

3. I am an analytical thinker. I love my ability to argue a point without letting emotion get in the way.

4. I am a political moderate. Liberals think I'm conservative, and conservatives think I'm liberal.

5. I am a good mediator. I think I'm good at looking at both sides of any issue to find a middle ground.

6. I am a good friend. Although I think I need work on my listening skills, I tend to be able to tell when a friend needs to talk.

7. I have great compassion. Though many think I'm aloof when it comes to watching people suffer (on the news and such), the fact is, I am heavily triggered by other people's suffering. At this time, I need to distance myself from it in order to prevent my own suffering.

8. I have a good work ethic. This is the one positive thing I learned from my mother. I go to work early, I stay late, I skip my morning and afternoon breaks, and I keep busy while I'm there. And yet, people criticize me for insisting on taking a full hour for lunch every day.

9. I am a good singer. Man, that was hard to say. I get criticized for singing often, but the fact is, my life revolves around my ability to sing. It is my one true passion in life, but I need to learn to let it go when people drop the perpetually horrible "Don't quit your day job" joke on me. Excuse me, but I spent ten years of my life trying to make it as a professional musician so I could quit my day job. It takes a lot to offend me. That does it every time.

10. I would do anything and everything in my power to protect a child. People who know me well on this forum know that this is a big one for me. This is something about myself that I am truly proud of.

Bryan

I will try this.

1. I am a hard worker, at any job I have done. I have pride in the work I do, and will do it best I can, always.

2. I was a good father, an excellent father. I was maybe not perfect, but was so close as I could get, and I know if ever I am lucky enough to be a father again, I will be good one.

3. I take very good care of my family and friends, and I will protect them with my life if ever necessary.

4. In mine own ways of ethics, I remain true to mine own honor. My choices maybe would not be the same of someone else, but they make sense in mine own character, and I remain true to it.

5. I enjoy to learn, and have had success in school, with much work.

6. Also with much work, I had more success in the sport I competed in then I should have. With many different things against my chances of success, I had much more then was expected, and I was able to enjoy it greatly, with getting to meet some very wonderful people.

7. I usually manage to have good balance of manners and standing up for what I think right.

8. I am a survivor, of many different things. And continue to.

I am putting this back up, because I done something good for myself today. I say 'no'. When I work hard at something, and I am told it is not right. So I work at it again, doing it all again, and today I am told again it is not 'going to work'. And instead of to do something all over again, when I do not believe it necessary, I said 'well, we will make it work then, because I am not doing it again'. I say that to someone of authority of me. Someone who have try before, and trying again to like 'sabotage' my efforts, because I am running out of time to get this done right. And I get my way of it. Finally.

Andrei

I worked hard to become an eagle scout. (who cares)

I managed to survive past the age of 32 (big accomplishment)

I learned to dance very well when I was younger (jazz, freestyle)

I have successfully raised many pets. Currently my baby Alley cat

I have successfully Directed a vollenteer youth church choir and we had many concerts, free of course, in church

I have learned how to physically defend myself so I never need to fear anyone again (Tang-soo-do, United Studios of self defence and then later Fuji jujistu)

I Learned how to do a backflip. (then lost the ability)

I am an excellent cook in most any sittuation.

I have held down the same job for over four years now

I am an Excellent english teacher

I have some natural language ability

I can sing very well

I didn't kill Three people who deserved it and were in my hands to do so, in fact I put them down and did my best to quickly make reconcilation.

I taught myself to deep dive freestyle

I taught myself freestyle rockclimbing and enjoyed, cliffdiving for a short while.

I held my breath for three whole minutes, (I gradually worked upt to it, in my youth)

I made friends with a few people and learned to trust them to an extent.

I bounced back from over three suicide attemps. (mostly subliminal in nature, but they almost took my life)

I have a strong Testimony In Jesus Christ my Personal Saviour

I am walking (heavily limping) again after just under three months. I Broke (shattered) my lower left left tibia and fiblua. I have been hitting Rehab very heavy every day. If you want to know how it happened then PM me.

I have abstained from (didn't do it) going to a local pharmacy that will let me buy Morphine when ever I want. Ok so I went once but that was just after leg surgery. Since that one time, I haven't gone back.

I have stayed married to my first wife for over almost seven years running now, even though she was very abusive at first. Now she's just unpredictable and controllin. I have worked very hard to improve the conditions of my marriage. It still mostly feels like it sucks. But My wife and I have made a lot of measurable improvements

I am responding to that because I am to tired to look for the 'standing ovation' one (lazy, I know). I win medal this week in international competition, only is second time ever as a senior level competer for me. And it was at competition here in mine own country. It is such huge big feeling to me, because I have had so much struggles, and so much health and injury issues, as well as confidence troubles. This just feel to me like winning Olympics, to be able to do so good here. I hope it will lead to more success the rest this season.

Andrei
