    I put all bricks back
        in their proper places

There is much to be said for safety

    not so much mine

        but others

Hi Mark --

This goes with A Loose Brick, right?

Quote:
A brick fell out of the wall today
and for the first time ever
I didn't put it back.

I have you to thank.

You see, until now, I've never wanted to know what was over there
on the other side of the wall.

I just never realized there were nice people in the world.

But now I'm wondering ...

maybe I don't need the wall?

I liked that image. Yeah, we all have the power to take down our walls, or rebuild them as needed. But who are you protecting by sealing up the wall again?

David

it's not the ability to recognize them - it's knowing which one goes where in the collage that is the wall.

but then - maybe i'm just wierd.

Hey, Mark,

It is such an interesting irony, or, is that paradox? Hmmm? Not sure which? That the wall goes up to protect the innocent.

On so many levels...

We do imprison ourselves with the walls, don't we?

Once in a while, I will take a brick or 2 out and expose a little bit of the me whose behind those walls. But, basically, the bricks come as a standard feature, not an option.

I started to take down the wall and ended upsetting someone. It's not worth the risk. What does it matter if I gain freedom at the expense of someone else??

The truth is upsetting, but we're not so bad that we have to brick ourselves in to protect people's feelings. Sometimes the cage fuels the rage, anyway. I don't know if my wall is protecting me or others, but it's getting crowded and boring in here & I'm tired of it.

Mark,

Don't worry about others...you have to worry about you...your recovery.
