Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share a few things. I'm going to keep part of this vague since this is going on the public side. But in the last couple of weeks I have seen evidence in my life of the existence of a higher power.
First things first, to give you an idea of where I'm at right now... I'm currently preparing myself for something I never thought I'd do: to tell my parents about the abuse. I once swore on my life that they'd never find out. I can't believe how far I've come. My fears over the past few weeks have been steadily boiling down to the point where one thing stood in my way: my parent's complete lack of understanding when it comes to things like Childhood Sexual Abuse.
Yesterday my sister called -- she knows and is very supportive. She wanted to take my parents to her church, and by God's grace, they attended the service on Sunday morning. To my sister's surprise, the service of the day was dedicated largely to... none other than Childhood Sexual Abuse. My sister was calling to let me know that my parents had gotten something of a 2-hour 'crash course' on the awareness of CSA, and the church even handed out information packages to everyone in the congregation on how to support loved ones who have been through CSA, among other things. There were survivors telling their stories via videos as well as people who were in the building telling their personal stories and making everyone in the crowd that much more aware of how real CSA is, and how close to home it can hit.
Another thing that recently happened was that I made a decision to do something for my recovery that is rather costly -- and its not something I can afford at all. Again, a subtle push from a supernatural source has reached my life. I committed to this event not knowing how I was going to pay the remaining expenses of travel, time off work, etc. Later that very evening, I sold a website to a client who has been 'thinking about it' for literally years. That night however, she decided to come to my house, talk about it for a while, and committed to it. It's income on the side of my day-job which will hopefully provide just enough funds to cover motels & gas for the 2000 miles I'll be driving to attend.
It's really interesting to see these subtle things happen in my life. Doors are opening for me and my recovery and I know I'm on the right track. I'm absolutely terrified of walking through those doors still -- but to know they are open to me is a true blessing.
Anyways, its late. I should be signing off. Just thought I'd share some thoughts for you all.

Frost,
Its amazing isn't it...how things work out? It's hard to beleive there is not some higher power behind it.
I am so happy that your parents have had a "primer" now...that is awesome and should help you immesnly in your discloser.
I am proud of you for disclosing to your parents...that takes alot of "power" and will.
I wish you the best of Luck.

It's really interesting to see these subtle things happen in my life. If what's happening right now is "subtle", I'm not sure I'd like to know what you consider "obvious"... (Laugh please - it was meant as a joke...) Praying for you, and jazzed with the blessings unfolding in your life! M

Well ... not to me it isn't People might say I'm biased, I try to look for the hand of God in my life at all times ... Personally, I don't believe I could see the supernatural if I wasn't looking for it. I am SO jazzed for you! God bless. M

God has put all the pieces in place for his perfect timing...and I am with Mark...I think this might be God's 'subtle' way of nudging you to tell them!
I am so happy for you...I believe this is really going to help.

Frost,
I am so happy for you, and no, I don't believe in coincidences to THIS extent. All this reminds me of something I saw in a book awhile back. I forget the exact words, but the idea is that when God sees us suffering he sends us people.
Much love, Larry

I don't believe in coincidences to THIS extent. My thoughts exactly. It's all too weird, and surreal like... but its really happening.

Frost,
That is excellent! God is never early or late, He is always right on time. I know that He is going to bless you.
It is so cool to hear about this. I just put up a post about a week ago about telling my parents, which, by the way, I haven't done yet. I'm still really nervous and scared of possible repercussions from it.
But, for you, it sounds like it is your time. Go for it. I hope that you will let us know how everything goes.
God bless, John, The Music Man

Frost,
It doesn't happen like that all the time, of course, but when it does it's like this wonderful message sent our way that says "I love you!"

I believe God is real. And I know He's guiding the healing of my husband. But, it is hard to grasp His timing sometimes--for my husband suffered and acted out for years before he could tell anyone. I wish God would have helped him stop. I'm thankful my husband is free of all disease and never got caught, and I wish he'd have been protected and not ever been abused.

It's interesting to me to see how guys picked up on my comment about coincidences. I am a scientifically oriented person and I make my living making "sense" of things as a university teacher. So, for example, if I see a pond freeze in January in Berlin, and then see the same thing happen in Utrecht the next day, I will feel okay in concluding that the low temperature in both places has something to do with it. I would consider it unlikely if someone told me, no, it's a coincidence and there may be places where, under ordinary circumstances, water doesn't freeze at 32 F.
So when I see "coincidences" like we are talking about here, it also makes sense to me to think that there is no coincidence at all, but that the "law" at work is just something beyond my comprehension right now. I don't feel I am the one missing out on something if these coincidences begin to add up and I think of myself as "blessed", whereas another guy thinks he is just "lucky". But how he sees things is still up to him so far as I am concerned.
Much love, Larry

It's interesting to me to see how guys picked up on my comment about coincidences. It's no coincidence that we picked up on your comment about coincidences. perhaps its a coincidence that i started this thread and it ended up being about coincidences that were coincidentally not coincidences but acts of a higher power that is watching out for us by means of subtle things that many people perceive as coincidences? my head just exploded what a mess ~B

frost, I have had things like this happen to me all the time when I needed and was ready for it to happen. I am reminded of what you said in our last HC about your finding that passage in the bible when you were angry and looking for a 'why'. I look at your posts and know that that passage has indeed come to pass. I know I could never reach out to others in this site and understand if I had not been through what I have. I God's economy, the kind of person I will become is far more important to him than my personal comfort and safety. All is expendable in the interest of making me a good person. If all God wanted was cattle he would feed us and keep us comfortable and happy all the time till he was ready for us to grace his table. He doesn't want that he was good sons and daughters and that requires that we go through the stuff that will bring out character. That is never pleasant but it is profitable for out soul. Your my hero.

I do not believe in a God who intervenes and makes things like happy coincidences happen -- the existence of such a being really makes it problematic when happy coincidences fail to happen and, instead, horrible awful evil things happen.
However, I believe that all that exists, including us, is a single organic and internally related totality -- everything is connected with everything else and is part of the same glorious system, on every level from quanta to galaxies and human life. That system is pretty close to what I personally call "God."
Human beings are -- as far as we know now -- unique in that we can consciously choose how to perceive the world and how to interact with it. We can open ourselves up to the working of the system, to allow ourselves to flow with it and be surrounded and filled by it through oriented our minds and our actions to harmony with the totality. We can also close oursevles off in selfishness and work against the grain, which leads to friction, suffering, and misery.
So, I experience these happy coincidences from time to time -- I think everyone does to some degree or another. I see them as momentary flashes of light through the haze of human consciousness that briefly illuminates the fundamental order, harmony, and unity of existence.

I believe in God and also believe that all of creation is connected. The Bible says that all of creation is full of the Spirit of God. The word used there in the Hebrew literally translated means "Heavy" so it's basically saying that all of creation is filled with the "Heavy" or weight of God. Makes sense to me.

I believe in a god when I'm out looking at the lake, or the ocean, or in the woods. At those times I feel that "wow there must be SOMETHING out there that did all of this."

I believe in God the maker of heaven and earth. Creator of all things, the author of life, and the author and finisher of my faith. I believe in His healing power. Not only the healing of my body but the healing of my soul and spirit. He is the Healer of the harms of my past. He is my everything. He is my all in all. He is the greatest love of my life. Jung coined the word to describe what he called "temporally coincident occurrences of acausal events." Jung variously described synchronicity as an "'acausal connecting principle'" (i.e., a pattern of connection that cannot be explained by conventional, efficient causality), "meaningful coincidence" and "acausal parallelism". Jung introduced the concept as early as the 1920s but only gave a full statement of it in 1951 in an Eranos lecture, then in 1952 published a paper "Synchronicity — An Acausal Connecting Principle" in a volume with a related study by the physicist (and Nobel winner) Wolfgang Pauli.
It was a principle that Jung felt gave conclusive evidence for his concepts of archetypes and the collective unconscious , in that it was de>
