I'm not deaf but I've had to learn how to sign because my vocal chords are so screwed up I can't talk loudly enough for anyone to hear me.

Very. Been learning it for about 2 years, I still get mixed up on some things cos I sign to fast and get frustrated cos people don't know what I'm trying to say. But once I slow down and take my time then the message gets across.

I learned SEE back in 1985. Interpreted for a few years, then changed churches. Slowly, my number of deaf friends decreased. Now I only have 1 or 2. I'm rusty, but could pick it back up.

It's all I know, but I'd rather pick up ASL now.

asl isn't as difficult as people make it seem. it's basically the same grammar as french.
