I found a number of interesting points
1. In this study, the young children who played passively and alone, unless approached, but who were not aggressive or antisocial were those who had been molested. - - - Yeah, that was me.
2. Excessive and compulsive masturbation that is preferred even to play should be seen as an indicator of sexual abuse among toddlers and young children. - - - Very interesting point.
3. The ultimate act of withdrawal--suicide--is seen more often among sexual abuse victims of both sexes.
4. In all but extreme cases in which group therapy is precluded, individual work should be done concurrently in support of group treatment. - - - Now I understand why my T wanted me to do both. It never sunk in before although I'm sure he told me!
I was also proud to note that our own Ken Singer, LCSW was quoted a number of times in the article.
Thanks for posting this, Logan.
