I've looked, but I can't see anywhere that explains the different labels we get when we use the DB: New Here, Guest, Junior Member, Member, Member (red in bold), etc. Is this all based on the number of times we have posted?
And what is the "My Calendar" function all about? Again, I tried looking around but I didn't see any place where I could find this info.
Thanks, Larry

Everything except the red and blue member titles are based on posts. The red and blue titles are reserved for people on the members' side.
As far as the calendar... I haven't used it.

Jarrad, OMG more stuff that isn't explained? SHOCKER. You would LOVE Germany. When my phone was installed it came with a 100-page book in small print in German...on how to use the phone. Much reading, Larry

Or,
try New England...they intentionally do not put up road signs or street signs just to keep out tourists, I swear.

But meanwhile, back at the ranch...
What do these categories mean:
New Here Guest Junior Member Member
And what is the "My Calendar" function all about?
Thanks, Larry

Larry,
I believe the categories you mention change from new to guest, etc. depending on the number of posts a user has made. The old UBB software we used to use had the same feature although there were not as many classifications.
If you click the calendar option along the bar at the top of the forums it will open up a calendar with users birthdays on it. Also the my calendar feature can be used to mark specific events with. I've used it for that a time or two but I've long since forgotten how to mark events for the calendar.
Lots of poking around,
John

John,
Yep, I remember the old software had a newbie category that changed once a guy has (35?) posts. I was just wondering if the stuff you guys have access to shows where the changes are made in the new system. It's not all that crucial or anything - it's just that I didn't see anything and was wondering if I'm missing something obvious.
Much love, Larry

To all;
In the post called "Please Read the Discussion Board Guidelines" in the Male Survivors Forum, at the very bottom it states;
Types of Users on This Board: New User - A newly registered user with less than 30 posts on the board. Guest - A registered user with more than 30 posts on the board. Member - A dues paying member of MaleSurvivor
But I still don't know what a Junior Member is, and there may be others not listed as well.
Hope this helps.
Lazarus

To achieve status of Jr. member there is a benchmark set for a certain number of posts. What that number is, I've no idea and they have yet to provide me a manual to this thing. They're afraid (legitimately so) that I will manage to blow it up! Nathan? Do you have the answer to this question? John

*throws in his two cents* On every other forum I've ever been a part of there was a break down of the post rankings in the FAQ. Like the MS FAQ here: http://www.malesurvivor.org/board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=faq#titlestringInterestingly enough, only New Member and Guest are written on there, leading one to believe that all other rankings and titles are assigned by a moderator, including junior member.

*throwing in my two cents*
The Moderators here have no control of the user labels - it is soley determined by the number of posts a user makes

Well now I'm really curious! What are these secret junior members getting on the sly? If they get a gold star or a smiley then fuck this full member (in rusty red bold>
