LOL! Ahhh.... the joys of road kill! WELL......if it's roadkill we're talking about then it's got to be groundhog. A possum goes all flat and useless after the first hit, but a groundhog keeps its shape pretty well ever after a couple passes by the 18-wheelers. The hog has a thicker hide than the possum too, so you don't spend half your day picking the gravel out of it either. Just get your shovel under it and it comes right off the road. Or hey, if it's fresh kilt just pick it up by the tail and fling it into the back of your truck for the missus to deal with back home. Yep, definitely groundhog. No doubt about it. Learned all this in Arkansas, by the way. Much scraping, Larry

On a more serious note.. Most fish mounts are now done in fiberglass. There is nothing used of the fish. If you have a picture of the mount, or the fish, a good taxidermist can re-create the mount. One might be able to do that using the old mount as a guide(depending on how much fish is missing). I don't know what that will cost, but it is solution. Good luck!

heh yeah cool idea ,and no i have not told him yet lol hes got a broken leg it could be weeks before he goes out there ! your right it looked like the only part of the fish that was real was the skin ,but now its a racoon from the middle to the back ,the tail might be a dead giveaway that somethins wrong lol

Hey shadow, you might check your local thrift stores, they might have one of those "singing fish" plaques you could pick up? Those things make anyone laugh, once anyway, and could be just the damper you need to get him off the "pissed" mode.
Great post, I'm still laughing, and can just "see" how that poor fish looks now!!
