Hey all

Yesterday, I got the most amazing voicemail message from my mom on my cell phone voicemail. She praised me for all accomplishments I have done in the last 3 years.

What are some of these:

1. I went to rehab for my drug and alcohol adiction and self destructive behavior and have since been clean and sober. (3 years sober and 5 years clean).

2. I went from a low level job as a cashier at a grocery store to Front End Supervisor / Store Accountant in a year. No longer at the grocery store. See Number 3.

3. Found, applied, and interviewed for a job in Financial Services while still working at the Grocery store. Resulting in me landing the job I am in now with better pay, better benefits, and much more room to grow. I have co-workers who appricate my hard work and dedication. Plus, my boss gave me a great performance review update yesterday! :-)

4. Have maintained a steady relationship with persons for 2 years now and not up and leaving. WOW! A new record. My last record was 6 months with someone.

5. All my bills are paid in full and up to date. No past due notices or collections on anything current.

I guess I can look back and see that I have really changed and for the better.

Finding this site has also been a blessing. I have learned a lot from many of you. I hope to keep learning and growing. I will share more of me as I feel my time is right.

If you are wondering, I feel amazing. I feel very in control. If anyone were to ask my partners how I was a couple of years ago, they would say I was so unstable and not focused. But, they are both very proud of me along with my family.

I am very proud myself for doing what I have accomplished. To top it off, I am continuing to better myself each day. I just applied for a transfer within my company to learn a new area. My boss has said he is 200% support of me doing such, even though he would hate to loose one of his best employees.

This is all amazing news. And let me tell you, these victories don't fade with time. I still feel good about myself every 4th of July; that's my anniversary, and this year I will be 32 years clean. Drugs do keep calling to you like the whores they are, but after awhile you develop a confidence in your strength and lack of need for them. Every 4th I look back and thumb my nose at them!
