Luckily since my stint in the hospital the rage is under control. I have learned to vent my anger in low doses so it doesnt turn to rage. Besides my anger level is so far reeduced now. It was all in the therapy. Been 19 months since I had an ERD moment!

"What happens when there is nothing safe to punch"....well there is always something safer than a human or animal to punch to be honest. I have hit metal doors or car windsheilds....other really hard objects just simply to snap myself out of it. The pain is a real good way of bringing you to your senses. But I am long past that now. The comments just made me think back to when things where bad....I am glad they aren't anymore.

I hope you didn't feel I was picking on you. Sorry if I gave that impression. This idea of hitting things comes up from time to time on the DB and it's something that concerns me in general. For example, I'm not sure I would call a metal door or a windshield a safe target! I'm glad you are past that.

Which reminds me of bands like the Who or the Clash - the way they smashed up instruments. I wonder what that was all about. Townshend used to smash a guitar to atoms before he had even paid for it!

Awhile back I had in mind to take a pipe wrench to the garden shed - just because it would be something I knew would be "unhealthy". Fortunately for the shed (and my hands) I got distracted.
