I hope I don't hijack the thread by saying this, but it's kinda cool knowing I'm not alone on this: missing and loving mom even though she was not a good mom. My mother was a mean ol' bitch when I was a kid. She's one of the reaons I'm here. She's still alive, and I don't want to see her. But I do see her because it just seems the thing to do as her son.
