Jem, It shows how still innocent she is to what is going on around her, and illustrates to them all how they will have to continue living with each other. Beautiful. I think this is what ultimately affected me most about the book too - the element of a child's innocence. It just pours off of every page. Much love, Boo

and on my lunatic sense of humour side-
I loved "Toonces the Driving Cat" on Saturday Night Live.
He was the suicidal puppet Cat Taxi Driver - who would drive the celebrities over the cliff in his taxi - and get this crazed screaming cat face -
the celebrities - would be talkign and then scream - Toonces!?
what are you doing!????!!?
lol it was so weird - surreal -
strange

Brian,
I went back to see The Breakfast Club several times before it left theaters. Yes - awesome!

Mark - I loved Toonces, too! He was too cool. I think my favorites skit was when Toonces was driving Mrs. Daisy. Hysterical.
MEOW!

I haven't followed this post for a few days, so sorry to go back a bit, but I have a General Hospital Story.
I was a freshman in college when GH was all the rage. I didn't got too into it, but I saw a few episodes and I had some friends that were hooked. So one day, I'm in a chemistry class. It's freshman chemistry and it is in a huge lecture hall. 600 studenst maybe. and at 12:45, about 4/5 of the class gets up and leaves en mass. i asked someone what was going on and she wispered, "It's luke and Laura's wedding"

Man, I sooooo remember "The Little Engine That Could". As I more or less collapsed emotionally I withdrew from so many things and tried to back off them by saying, "I can't". My Mom always reminded me of all the times she had read this book to me. It really is a treasure, right up there with "The Roly Poly Puppy", "The Tawny Scrawny Lion", "The Little Red Hen", etc.
Much love, Larry
