istrong, if you ever get to Chatanooga, TN, go to the Chatanooga Choo-Choo. It's a Holiday Inn that's all about trains. You can sleep in a RR car if you want. The also have one of the best toy train sets in the world. It is something else!!

Remember "steelies"? Not marbles, but steel ball bearings, which kids could not normally get ahold of very easily. NOTHING was worse than losing one of your steelies in a marble match.

Steelies! How long has it been since I thought of them? It was indeed a calamity beyond all proportions when one was lost in a game. Usually I lost them to my brother, Darrel!

This reminds me of a friend of mine whose Dad was a major in the Air Force. He worked at a big base near where we lived, and we all LOVED to go with our friend to visit the base. It had nothing to do with seeing the planes! We wanted to get into the dumpsters where they disposed of all the discarded parts. SOMEWHERE in there would be our prize - the old worn-out bearing rings from landing gear, now useless to the Air Force but FULL of wonderful steelies in pristine condition just waiting to be gently pried loose!! \:\)

Much love,
Larry
