I want to ask you to reach out -

to your community once this month - and 3 times this year -

i am living in Dorchester, Mass -

not a great neighborhood - but I am making a place and a name - here.

People know me by name now - and say good morning. It's pretty neat that part.

But I have become involved here unavoidably -

I go to a green grocer - 3 blocks away owned by a greek family.
To a library too. near there too. To an irish restaurant for coffee etc...

Recently -

I saw a girl - very young (10 or so) on her own- clearly neglected little irish looking girl
depressed looking and weakish - -

who seems to hide next to people - at the market -

i dropped something and she ran to pick it up for me -

I said - there's no need sweetie - but she was desperate for love -

It scared me - she's always been seen alone - and carrying a small canvas purse - a child.

There is a library nearby with a huge chidrens section and wonderful older librarians
men and women who take care of the children there - it has a playground too -

I've advised Scully at the front desk there - and Harry and Charlie at - the grocer -

They're response - "Thank You- my god we didn't even see her we will look out for her"

They will be vigilant for her.

They didn't even see her they said - Of course - they do not KNOW to look for her - she is invisible to them -

as many of us were -

Please - keep talking to your neighbours - break the boundary and say hello

tshe is everybody's child - directing her to the library - takes no effort -

As I've walked down the street - there are people who won't say hi back - but mostly - I think that is because they are afraid. and not mean -

Maybe Hilary Clinton is right - it takes a village to raise a child - this girl

deserves to be safe - from neglect.

M

You've got a good soul Mark, an old soul I think. Yes, looking out for that little girl is the responsibility of every adult who comes in contact with her, but you are the one who is making them see. I really hope everyone takes that responsibility as seriously as you do; she needs it.

ROCK ON...........Trish
