shadow, you raise some good points. Either way, part of me wants to see it and part of me is kinda fearful. I watched another movie last year that folks on here raved about, and I was squirming over that one as it was. Trigger-city!

I was asking about the MS Conference this fall, not the upcoming retreat. I wondered if there might be some opportunity for each (the film and the Conference) to help publicize one another.

The trailers for this film really hooked me as far as being tricked/groomed/manipulated.

I’ve been keenly following the posts about this movie. I got to see the movie previews on the website(s) before they were pulled.

I appreciate the apologies from the producers and director (please thank them but also at least convey my personal opinion on this) that although this is a sensitive topic, I knew viewing such a movie preview would be. I was prepared for a trigger event. I was triggered but I was pre-prepared and it was my choice. I actually watched it again a few days later and watched all of the clips as I wanted to gain as much insight into this forthcoming movie as I could.

I was better prepared second time around.

As this thread has evolved, the finale of the movie has also been revealed and if I can read between the lines it sounds like it didn’t end on a positive or affirmative side for victims nor did it really achieve what the supposed intent was – to assist abuse victims. At least that’s what I’ve interpreted from your comments and those of other people you have shown this movie to.

That’s ok too and my point is still a thankyou. As you mentioned, and somebody else who posted did too, if you haven’t lived through this yourself it’s hard to accurately capture it all and tell the story.

I emplore the producers for what they tried to do. So a big thankyou. And a thankyou again to them and you that they have received constructive criticism and haven’t shelved the whole project but are willing to do it again and better this time. I think that’s awesome and I can’t wait to see the finished movie. It will be tough to watch, and I’ll probably see it by myself with a big box of tissues but I think it will help me in my recovery.

Their decision to remove the trailers of the existing movie again demonstrates their true concern for us survivors. Hip, hip, hooray!!

but how could you make a movie about sa that wouldnt be triggering? i mean it has to have the trigger stuff or its just fantasy fiction you know? i guess i revised my opinion ,it could never be totaly true to what really happens to us ,for it to be that real you would have to watch one made by the perp ,i dont think they should not do the movie. and if its not a happy ending then that is true to life also ,it triggerd me and it seemed like it was using what happened to us for profit but i dont think thats right now . maybe its ok just like it is?
