Personally i never really paid much attention to the shout box. If indeed the mods received negative feedback from new visitors saying the shout box upset them, then I can totally understand their decision to do away with it.

haha froggy. barf. that made me laugh. i really dont care either way if the shoutbox is here or not. i never really used it. however, increasing censorship does have me worried. you cant protect people from life. its cruel to create the utopian enviroment that is so far removed from reality that it ends up being damaging.

Censorship? Does anyone even remember that there was no shout box on the older server at all? Did anyone say "censorship" at such non-existence? No. This was a new feature to everyone that was, in my (and others) opinion, misused. I really can't see the loss of such an insignificant feature qualifying as censorship. Now, if we lost an entire forum, then I would certainly see cause to protest.

My $0.4 - de gustibus non est disputandem some fella wrote a while back. Some folks like to piss and moan, some like to laugh out loud, some would spoil a good wet dream. It's all part of the human makeup. The sun is up shout some. No ain't say some others. Both are right but where do they live?

im not talking soley about the shoutbox in regards to my feelings about censorship and the site. like i said i could care less about the shoutbox. but i do care about the reasoning why it was removed. that botheres me. my feelings also stem from the message board and the chat room as well. i get that this is a "special" site for people to feel "safe" butwhere do we draw the line? if people have to adapt how they behave here to suit other people, will the site really help? if we cant be ourselves waht's the point?

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

There are other venues for silly banter. It wasn't about censorship.
