Ahh yes I hear what you're saying Selene and I totally agree except for ONE minor thing.

I've come to believe that cooperation and volunteering time and persuasion are more efficient than using the force of government, (with their police and guns and courts) in attaining the goal of providing for good living standards for any given society.

I mean COME ON think about it. Like, oh children and old people are going to fall over dead in the street unless government taxes us and gives it to other people. PUHHHLEEEZZZZZ.

We all INTUITIVELY know that government, with all it's red-tape and forms and bureaucracies, is the least effective means of achieving any goal and yet, AND YET, people want to espouse that if government didn't socially engineer the tax code or loop-rope us into a bankrupt retirement scheme that old people and children would be falling over dead in the streets. Give me a break!

Ok I'll shut up heh. Somebody take this soap box away from me!

um the only reason we pay taxes is to fund the governments officials

higher pay scale standard - and separate health care system -
and full pay till they die- and benefits for them and their families

- it is a noble class - of capitalism -

every senator - no matter how many years served - automatically becomes an elite
with full pay until he or she dies - even if she serves 1 term at say at the minimum age required to be a senator -

plus - they use SS as an overhead fund -

so taxes are increasing not to clean things up

but so that fewer in the bureacracy will need to be hired

so the war in Iraq - can be funded more liberally - et al...

garbanzo beans the lot of them -

they just make you want to fart!

the policy for giving themselves a raise in pay

is voted on - by them "not showing up to work"

that is the rule -

it automatically takes effect -
if they do not show up to work

so -

if they protest a generous pay raise -

they have to attend work - and muster a majority
of non -slackers

again these politicians have the best doctors available to them

trained to a higher standard -

with better facilities -

kept up to date - just for them -

for the rest of their lives...

oh yes - dont forget - it's not just for them

it's for them and their families -

maybe we should start another thread on where that tax money really goes and how many people abuse the system at the expense of those the money was meant to help
