I am in the Atlanta area. I would also be interested in a support group for surviviors of sexual abuse.

Is the group going yet?

I would appreciate any info.

Thanks
Gerald

Count me in, also. I live in Lawrenceville; NE perimeter. Probably couldn't attend if downtown; depends on frequency and timing.

I know of a SNAP group (clergy sexual abuse) that has started meeting on the third Thursday of the month, in the Emory area. A different 'flavor' of abuse, but support nonetheless. Contact me if interested.

I know Colrain as she facilitated Simpsonwood retreat. Excellant T, with thorough knowledge of abuse and its ramifications.

I am also searching for a new T; any suggestions would be appreciated.

Got your back,
kayak

It does not appear that anyone is watching these posts, with the possible exception of some of us who might be interested in an Atlanta group.

I am getting impatient here...maybe "we" should do something ourselves.....

more later

Well,
I am still interested. Is this Dr. Randy Beggs supposed to be facilitating. The last time I emailed him, this summer he did not respond back
thanks
Nick

Nick and all others who are interested in an Atlanta support group:

First, we CAN have a support group without a professional facilitator. There are thousands of these PEER support groups through out the world for other issues.

Second, the Healing Circles here are examples of PEER support groups that work.

Third, if you are interested in helping to form a PEER support group, please let me know. The previous attempts for a tereapist-facilitated group have not worked, and I for one am getting impatient.

Please let share are thoughts on this.

Gerald

All right guys... My "T" (whom I have an immense amount of respect for) has tentativly agreed to facilitate a group in Alpharetta. HER name is Karen Savrin and she has been my T for the last year+. She is only going to require 5 members for the group.

Her email is:
ksavrin@earthlink.net

Contact her if you have any interest.

Thanks,

GW
