Glavine pitched a gem in game 2. Losing Pedro and Hernandez was a huge blow. I hope Trascel can step up on Saturday.

The Yankees took a beating tonight! I hope Detroit is able to finish the job tomorrow! I don't want a tattered Mets pitching staff to go against that lineup of the Yanks. I like our chances against anyone else!

Go METS!!

Brian,

Wishes do come true. How sweet would it be for the Yanks to lose (done!) and the Mets sweep on the same day. So far, it's lookin' good 4-0. Keep cheering!

METS WIN!!

And they have some time to rearrange the pitching rotation! Glavine, Trashel & Maine (I hope). It will also give Cliff Floyd a chance to get healthy again.

Carpenter is pitching Game 4 for the Cards tomorrow, so there is no way possible that we will have to deal with him 3 times in the NL Championship Serise. Thats good news!

I am bit disappointed about the Yanks. I would have liked to see a Subway series again (and I think we would have kicked their butts; as proved in Detroit, even our weary old pitching staff is not as weary and old as their pitching staff).

SAR, sorry, but I'm with Brian on this one. Our long term record against the Yanks just isn't good enough for me to be comfortable with a World Series match up against them. That, of course, is NOT an admission I make in front of any Yankee fan. ;\)

OK, one more series to go and they're off to the big show...

Wow! Detroit looks very good! Trish, lets just hope that they cool off by the time they meet the Mets in the World Series (I don't think they will have to much trouble with St. Louis).

SAR,

Our staff staked the team to a double digit lead in the NL East while Pedro was hurt and El Duque was in Arizona. It's not Seaver, Koosman, Gooden, Darling, Ojeda. But it's the staff that got the Mets where they are this October. Why are people complaining that some of the Mets' starters aren't in the Hall of Fame? They pitched the team to the best record in baseball.

Game time. Gotta run. (Jose Reyes' motto! \:\) )
