It featured a pic of him as a little kid in some of the most terrible overalls I have ever seen!! $;\)$ As this thread grew it prompted the mod team to set up a special images forum, and this thread continues to dominate the forum. Just a few minutes ago it hit 200 posts. It's been an amazing thing for guys to share these photos and talk about their childhoods with those pictures in front of us. It really does stress how innocent and defenseless we were. We were good kids, lovable and worth a lot more than we experienced. It has also brought out to many of us that there were happy moments in our childhoods that we should not lose sight of as we recover from abuse. EGL, I know you will never ask for it yourself, soooooo...... here's your standing ovation!!!! I was just the one who started the thread, but it really took on significance due to everyone who posted on it. That thread is one of the most powerful ones I have ever seen here at MS. It really makes the point of the innocense that was lost. I am not ready for the pain, but feeling and knowing are two different things. If I have support, I can face this, but ONLY if I have support. I want a "what are you doing today, Alfred?" "Thinking about you today" PM's, just simple things. I want more opportunity to touch base, express myself, and like Curt, just stand up and hoop and hollar! I remember it Curt. Yeah, you sounded "stupid", and I did too. That's why I still remember it. It was awesome! And that's the simple word. May I please have a standing ovation?

I have been through a very much stressful and threatening situation in the last four or five weeks, and have maintained myself best I can, and fight the triggers of it best I can, without it making me total crazy and fall apart. A year ago, two years ago, same thing, I do not know what I would done. Now, I am stronger then this, and then him. Finally.
