Ug! I was looking up flight info and found out that the Sunday night flights don't actually get me home 'till 10am Monday ! The airport is just around the corner from work, which is probably where I'll leave my car. I might as well put in the days work rather than take a personal day!

Hey Dave:
If the retreat is anywhere drivable to Moab, UT, go for it. Moab must be the 4wd/off road capital of the world. We stayed there a couple of nights (one in Arches National Park- incredible campground with very limited reservations, and beautiful sites), but plenty of motels in the town. Consider it as a vacation in healing.

I signed up. Now will I actually go is the question.

I'm not saying that a retreat is an abyss. I've been to two. Two years ago and four years ago. And in retrospect, they were places that I stumbled.

They were wonderful and important but they were also very critical points for me that somehow have moved me in the wrong direction. That stumbling again.

The fault lies within me, not the retreats. I have signed up because it gives me a goal and another opportunity to find out why I really can't connect (or can't really connect) to others or to myself.

A retreat may not be the place to find those answers. Right now I think maybe.

Way to go Don! I know it must be hard to try again, but the fact that you are willing to push your comfort level and give it a shot tells me that you are a real fighter.

Um... Is it inappropriate to ask for a massage at a retreat?

I'm kidding! Come on people! \:D

Oh by the way for those of you flying out of the NY area, here is my flight info in case there is a chance to hook up at any of the airports.

Fri. Sept 10:

  • Delta 5781 5:50 am out of Westchester arriving in Cincinnati 7:50 am
  • Delta 571 10:15 am out of Cincinnati arriving Salt Lake City 10:15 am

Sunday Sept 12:

  • Delta 418 11:50 pm out of Salt Lake City arriving in Atlanta Sept 13 5:18 am
  • Delta 5783 8:15 am out of Atlanta arriving Westchester 10:30 am

Coffee in Atlanta anyone?

Funny thing is the driving directions are easier than Paris. The hang up is the 2137 miles on route I 80
