The movie fan strikes again! \:D

Recently, the American Film Institue made a list of the top 100 movie quotes of all time. Now, a LOT of our favorites are gonna cross over, but I'm wondering, what are the favorite quotes from the people here?

So, I'm asking - what are YOUR favorite movie quotes?

Here are a few of mine. Be aware, as I've probably repeated them often, that some are quite long.

Someday a big rain's gonna come and wash the filth off the streets - Taxi Driver

I'm mad as Hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore! - Network

No more wire hangers ever! - Mommie Dearest

Like all stories worth telling, it's about a girl. - Spider-Man

We're gonna need a bigger boat. - Jaws

I've got a bad feeling about this. - EVERY SINGLE Star Wars movie!

Rosebud..... - Citizen Kane

There's only one sure thing about men like us; not one of us will see Heaven. - Road to Perdition

GET YOUR PAWS OFF ME, YOU DAMNED DIRTY APE! - Planet Of The Apes

SOYLENT GREEN IS MADE OF PEOPLE! - Soylent Green (both the previous line and this one were delivered in the finest of overacted tones by the wonderful Charlton Heston, hence the all caps \:D )

Your turn now!

Peace and love,

Scot

"Here's another fine mess you've gotten me into"
Laurel & Hardy [staple saying]

"WISEMAN WHO SIT ON TACK BETTER OFF!" Charlie Chan
to #1 son

"Befriend donkey expect to be kicked" Charlie Chan in 'Castle in the Desert'

"Oh dad, not the puppets again" daughter talking to Richard Dreyfus in 'What About Bob'

I have more to post later! I expecting this to be a really good thread!!!

This is one I overuse. Folks who know me it's my favorite line of all time. Actually, it's so long that it's less of a line than a soliloquey. Anyone whose seen the movie knows the context it's said in, and that makes it one of the most dramatic movie moments of all time.

I've seen things you people can't begin to imagine. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've seen C-beams glitter in the stars near Tanenhauser Gate. All these moments will be lost in time. Like tears in the rain. Time to die..... Blade Runner.

And the one always said by anyone with a mirror.

You talkin' to me? You talkin' to ME? Well, I don't see anyone else here, so you MUST be talkin' to me! - Taxi Driver.

Keep this thread going!

Peace and love,

Scot \:D

I forgot this classic from the Blues Brothers

Elwood Blues:
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.

That's my kinda driving \:D

funny you should mention this -

i again and again have been thinking about the line from 'the bird cage' - and laughing to myself about it. - the movie was with Robbin Williams and Nathan Lane as lovers who run a drag club - just been coming to mind - who knows why -

"that's all I am to you isn't it?! ... a meal ticket?!" - not complete without a hand to the brow brushing the hair away with a lifted eyebrow while still staying above it all - focusing ahead \:\) - Nathan Lane as 'Albert' aka "Starina"

STELLA!!!! - Street Car Named Desire

I used to yell this whenever my kids were younger and around when I hammered my finger or cracked a toe on a door, instead of cussing! I guess I have regressed, I cuss now, dammit.

Maria defiantly confronts the Captain, in The Sound of Music.

"I could never answer to a whistle.
Whistles are for dogs and cats and other animals,
but not for children, and definitely not for me.
It would be too humiliating."

I always loved that line!

When I was a boy I was whistled for every day and hated it and wished I could be rescued by someone genuine and loving and strong.

I have lots of "deep" favs, but here are some less deep -- The Airplane Franchise (thks IMDB)

Steve McCroskey: Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit ____.

***

Rumack: You'd better tell the Captain we've got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.
Elaine Dickinson: A hospital? What is it?
Rumack: It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

***

Steve McCroskey: Jacobs, I want to know absolutely everything that's happened up till now.
Jacobs: Well, let's see. First the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it.

***

Striker: We're going to have to blow up the computer!
Elaine Dickinson: Blow ROC?
[a smiling face appears on the computer]
