I had gone to Toronto with two weeks worth of clothes -

expecting my 'things' to be delivered after two weeks as scheduled -

well - they didn't arrive - for misinformation I got -

then I built a life out of nothing - and experimented with new designs

along - the way -

I also learned about the wonderful misspellings - customer service agents in America can do

and create fictitious addresses that do not exist in the world - and so your credit accounts become frozen -

and so - you basically are stranded in a foreign country - if you do not have cash in your bank account -

luckily - I had just enough - until - my equity line approval came through - with the by-pass of
the fact that I am NOT Canadian - and I DO NOT have a social insurance number (like a social security number here) -

it was a good idea - to pay as I did for my condo - this made - getting $ - more easily - made me more credible - as

no one knew me -

so all that I built over the year -

now in Boston - my things are emerging -

I so forgot - what I had - in detail

here's the stuff

- it's all in process - so the house is a mess at this time.

then naturally - I had to deal with settling in Canada -

the job search -

the new culture -

making friends -

dealing with my dad

healing

Dealing with Canadian Contractors!! aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

going crazy -

- and thank GOD for photos!!

and church!!

and actually - the wonderful culture of Canada.......

and the food -

and then

loosing my life up there

loosing my dear birds too

selling all my things

in short time

and coming to Boston

finding a job -

finding an apartment

unpacking my crap

starting again and all that -

managing my tenants up in Toronto

and away - we go!

Yes, Canadian culture is great. I go to Quebec at least once a year. It is the nearest province for me. But I have been to Ont. and Toronto - I loved driving in the back country near Orange and seeing the old farmhouse architecture.

My ex-wife, an Australian lives, in Vancouver and I have been to visit her about 5 or 6 times. Beautiful area, fun taking the ferry boats all over and good food and great food markets.

For the most part Canadians are civilized. I too was robbed, so with no ID at all and had to come back into the US with nothing was an interesting experience! The bus had to wait while I was taken off and questioned while they checked
for my name on some bad list. This was way back when.

I saw the book on Bosch in your photo set. I love his depictions of life in the Low Lands - the backgrounds, then the little details around the subjects etc etc.

Thank you for your New Year greetings, your brief bio and how you cope. Keep it up. And don't get TOO rowdy.
