Hi. How are you?
One thought came to mind. What do you think?
WHO WAS THE FIRST, PERP OR SURVIVOR?
I think perp, oh no, survivor was the first, but then there must have been the perp.
So it goes down to the perp being the frist thing, no matter if he/she was a survivor himself, or maybe just a sick guy.

Alexey, its like the chicken and egg sceanario. The oldest know writing from a survivor was Satymiah, he wrote some really powerful stuff if I can find it.
His utterings I think are from one to two thousand years old. The perp has to come first, and then others will follow in the dirty deeds.
Everyone is shock horror about it, but given the chance a lot of them would join in, that is how mans evil can surface,

Ste,
Thanks. It is interesting.
I only heard about the book "No Longer Human" by a Japanese survivor. It was the novel.
It is exiting (and sad) how little info I had got on the subject of males abused sexually in childhood before I joined MS and read some professional reading.
It seems that the old men abused as kids are a real rarity and an informational precious treasure.
Imagine how would words of the speaking freely man who was abused 200 years ago empower - and move - me, you, others...
Really interesting. It is a hit.
Alexey

you said it ste jesus was just a guy not a god not the son of god just a guy like you and me if i see him that way then it makes sense that he couldnt summon up the wrath of god to save me or himself. why put the responsibility for the whole world on a simple mans shoulders? also when i see what jesus did how much more does it mean if he was just a mortal man? why is it so hard to believe that a man could be like jesus was?

There are all kinds of references in ancient Greek writing to pederasty and child abuse, although the Greeks were pretty accepting of the whole boy-love thing for a long time. I seem to remember reading that it was a crime amongst the Vikings though.

Yes, Nobbynobs, I heard about that fact. The ancient Greeks were very sinful and, yes, paedophiles.
Even in Russia, a couple of centuries ago it was normal that a father used his daughters for sex - because he was the head of the whole family. It is a bit different topic...
I have just wondered how much info about sexually abused females was integrated into culture - and everyone knows that women can be sexually predated. But when it comes to men, there is no such a cultural baggage. I don't see men as victims, particularly because they act out what society thinks of them, that they are tough and like machines with the big genetals. Shit, this is so bad... So bad...
I don't get surprised when I hear how men suffer from PTSD, when the abuse substance and continue to satisfy expectations of the crowd actually.
Also I wanted to say that I think it is ok to organize a march or a meeting with demonstation of our will - like women did in the 19th century.
Who knows, maybe men will come and tell everyone in the world (by mass media) how they got humiliated and subjected to the abusers' atrocities.
Who knows, eh?
Alexey

Interesting, about the ancient Greeks. If 'pedophilia' was acceptable at the time, would those involved be considered 'survivors'? And would the others involved be considered 'perpetrators'?

it was a disgusting practice of the Ancient World - the Romans too did this -
all over their empire - I saw it on a PBS documentary -
it's sick.

It was practised pretty much non-stop up until very recently, I think. It wasn't until Charles Dickens and the childrens' rights movements in the 1800s that public awareness began to shift to how children were being treated.

Leosha,
Interesting question. Unfortunately, what is accepted in society isn't necessary the right and good thing. It isn't until someone in power, be it a single powerful man/woman, or the masses finally speak up to correct a wrong, that society as a whole changes. That change can, and many times does, take decades or centuries to take hold. Slavery comes to mind here in the States and the Holocaust in Germany. Two very extreme, but like examples. It was and is an appalling behavior that was accepted as normal and OK. All hell had to break loose, quite literally, in the form of war to stop the injustices that people will perpetrate upon one another.

No Ste, it hasn't stopped. But people are working very hard to make it stop. Slavery has stopped but the prejudice is still there. The Holocaust, has a different name, genocide, and different victims.
Good people continue to fight the wrongs and I believe that the good outweights the bad. I'm a bit of a pollyanna in the way I think sometimes, but I'm a pollyanna with a sword and I'll gladly take up the fight for what I believe is right in order to protect those that can't protect themselves. It's all we can do and if there are enough of us, we'll win.

Alexey, how dare you make a mistake. Only joking, your English is excellent. It seems that the old men abused as kids are a real rarity and an informational precious treasure. Yes, but few of them are available to speak to those who would listen! All the best, ste
