I just saw a commercial on CNN that was put out by Little League Baseball about Childhood Sexual Abuse (non-gendered).

I was pleased to see the commercial. It did catch me off guard when I say it and wasn't paying too much attention to it at first, I haven't seen it again since. It commercial was informational. Stating that it happens more often than people think and you can't tell who is who as far as perpetrators and to be involved with your children and talk with them to reduce the chances of it happening to them. On a side note from their website: All local Little Leagues are now required to conduct background checks on Managers, Coaches, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams. Individuals are also required to complete and submit a Little League Volunteer Application to their local league. Select from the links below to learn more about this vital aspect of Little League's mission. They also have links to the states' Sex Offenders Registry on their site.

The recent TV adverts for the NSPCC over here have been stunning, the first one I saw had me in tears.
But it worked, oh boy did it work!
The next day at work everyone was talking about it, and in a positive way.
I think that people can be shocked occassionaly to good effect, but done too often they would just get a dose of MEGO. (My Eyes Glaze Over )

A friend of mine, home in Russia, just filmed a public service ad about CSA. I do not think it is the first of it's kind, but I do think it is the first with a male personality doing it. Caught me by surprise, because I had no idea he had thoughts of doing that. I respect and admire his courage in doing that though, as I know he has been asked many questions in the past week or so, that he probably was not prepared for.
