How are you?

I got up in the morning with hangover after a party. The party took place in a vacation lodge.

There were lots of snow on the pines. That was the first snow. I looked around our of the window; the forest was all white, and it was cold.

It was too good for a couple of days to have so much fun with my coworkers and see the first snow. However, that snow was slowly falling down at night, but when we arrived to that place near Moscow, the weather was fine, snowless, clear, and sunny.

What a difference!

I live in the UK, so we get Russian weather coming this far. I know it is going to be cold when the geese fly in from the Arctic, which is a good sign to me.

I read your post with real warmth and appreciation. It's so positive to be able to note and enjoy the dramatic changes that mark the shift in the seasons. I remember how my sister and I would sit and watch the first big snowfall of the winter in Pennsylvania, usually in November. That meant snow on the ground from then until March at least, and as children with no cars to shovel out or jobs to drive to, we were so happy!

I can't think of anything more beautiful than snow falling on the forest. It's even more beautiful at night. I remember the snow coming down when I was a little kid living in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range of California.

Ah, the wonder of it all from a kids eyes.

it was november 1st - and i wore shorts and a long shirt yesterday outdoors -

i doubt it will snow here this year -

or perhaps it's just weird weather -

Your thoughts about the first snow brought back memories for me.

I was in Denmark in November several years ago. It was the first snow of the year and boy it was cold and beautiful outside. I stayed in a hotel that gave us goose down comforters and it was so cosey and warm.

I remember that day like it was yesterday.
