Generally, a person here only needs a 'buddy' if they are under age 18. That is just to help the person find their way around, and because often, someone underage may be in a different setting, possibly with abuse still occuring. It is a safety thing.
The moderator's names are listed at the top of each forum page. You can private message any of them with more questions, or put them here as you did, and someone will respond as soon as they see it.
