THE BODY DOUBLE:
A one day training opportunity on trauma intervention

This one day workshop gives mental health practitioners an immediate, hands-on clinical skill to decrease dissociation and body memories for clients with a history of trauma. Learn the "Body Double", an experiential intervention from the Therapeutic Spiral Model (Hudgins, 2006, 2002, 2000) to treat post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through lecture, demonstration and supervised practice.

This intervention has been researched and shown to decrease dissociation, anxiety, depression and general symptoms of PTSD in 3 individual therapy sessions (Hudgins, Drucker and Metcalf, 1998).

Join the Therapeutic Spiral Model Action Trauma Team of trained clinicians led by the creator of the Therapeutic Sprial Model, Dr. Kate Hudgins.

Thursday, October 19, 2006
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Room 110 (Rideau Room), The Bronson Centre
211 Bronson Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario

The fee is $120.00 per person and seating is limited, so book early!

Intervention Strategies with Male Sexual Abuse Survivors

A NEW COUNSELLING RESOURCE IN OTTAWA
THE FATHERING PROGRAM

There are still spaces available for our group program starting at the end of September.

Supported by the United Way and presented in partnership with Family Services Ottawa, this ten-week group counselling program is offered for men who wish to explore how parenting can be more rewarding, effective and fun! The focus of this program will explore current parenting issues in light of the participants' own childhood experiences. Using this lens, participants will learn to delve into new methods to effectively troubleshoot problems, handle feelings, and support each other in the journey and growth of becoming an effective and comfortable father.

Contact Alasdair Gillis for assessment and program information at (613) 230-6179.
