I am having a problem reading. I am wondering if anyone knows a way to make things on my computer be in larger letters.
I would appreciate the help. I have an appointment with the opthamologist. I think my surgery was bothed up. Don't know that I could prove it--but seeing is becoming a big problem for me.

I thought only an old fart ( as described by sleepy mike) like me had this sort of trouble. If you are using any form of Microsoft like 2000 85 or xp you can change the font by going to Control Panel and go to display. When you get to that area choose large or extra large fonts.
Changing Web page fonts and background colors When Web authors and designers create Web pages, they often specify particular type (font) faces, colors, sizes, and background colors. These settings are specified for each item, or in a "style sheet," which is a type of template for specifying how different styles should appear throughout a Web page or site.
You can override any or all of these settings, which is useful if you have limited or low vision. You can specify your font and color preferences for all pages that do not use style sheets, and then you can specify whether to use any or all of your preferences on pages that use style sheets.
For more information, click Related Topics below.
Related Topics If you are using word or other application click on the area that shows generally 100% of what you are seeing. You can increase this to 150 and so on. Hope this helps

Hi,
If your using IE click on "View" (It goes from L to R, File, Edit, View, Favorites...) at the top L corner and then on "Text Size" and choose "Larger" or Largest".

Well, as to Fonts, I am really grateful to find I can enlarge the type on any page I look at one the internet. I can also enlarge the font on my bowser prefeneces and I have come to copying and pasting to Word and then enlarging that so I can easilt see it.
Tomorrow I see the opthamologist to find out what the problem is. She will probably make a remark about me getting old. That seems the presne answer to everything--your getting old. $75.00 please!

Bob, Have you looked into the tools Microsoft Windows has for visual impairments? One of them is a magnifying glass - when activated it's literally like a m.g. that moves via the mouse around any window/screen on the pc, but this may only come with Windows 2000/XP, I'm not sure. Try looking under Programs>>Accessories>>Accessibility, your version of Windows (you do have Windows???) may have some tools there you can use. Here are some other links to Visual Tools software: AI Software Price isn't great but not off reach. Microsoft Search for Assistive Tools jer

The Microsoft Accessibility programs, including the magnifier have been available in all versions of Windows since Windows 95, release 2. For Windows 95 & 98, it was not generally installed by the computer makers, but is included on the Windows CD. I think it has been installed, by default, since Windows ME - I know it is pre-loaded in all versions of XP that I've seen, and the rarely seen Windows 2000. Now Where is that CD ??????

I have a Mac. I have found that the browsers have ways to enlarge as big as I want. It is a great help.

Bob, Safari is Macs own browser, pretty well constructed and should be available as a download or intergrated in OS X.something from any Apple distributor or http://www.apple.com it takes some getting used to, but it is more stable than any other I know of, Good luck, Ethan.

I just downloaded safari. I had used OMNI Web but it was a crash-o-rama for me. It makes sense that Mac would have it's own browser.
I am really wanting to get the new 17" iMac at work--we will see..
Thanks for the tip. It is good to have at least one or two guys around who do not hate Macs'
